About Cleomail

We think email deserves to be wanted.

Cleomail is a small, independent project with one stubborn belief: the inbox isn’t dead, most emails are just written badly. This is the story of why we started, where the name comes from, and what we believe.

How it started

An inbox full of emails that beg.

“Don’t miss out.” “Last chance.” “Just checking in.” Every morning, the same pleading tone, and every morning, the same reflex: select all, delete.

But a few emails never got deleted. A founder’s personal note. A pricing email that made us laugh. An unsubscribe message so charming we stayed. They didn’t shout. They didn’t beg. They made us curious, and we read every word.

So we started collecting them, then taking them apart. Why did this subject line work? Why did that opener feel like a friend? After 1,000+ of the world’s best brand emails, the pattern was obvious: great emails are built on plain human psychology, and almost nobody has time to learn it.

Cleomail is what we wished existed. You bring a rough idea. It finds the emails that already won people over in a similar moment, and writes yours with the psychology that made them work.

Why “Cleomail”

Named after history’s most famous persuader.

Cleopatra is remembered for her beauty, but the ancient writers who described her said something more interesting. Plutarch wrote that her looks were not, in themselves, incomparable. It was her conversation that was irresistible: her wit, her voice, the way she spoke to each person in their own language.

She won people over with words. That’s exactly what a great email has to do, with no face, no voice, and about three seconds of attention. So we named it after her: Cleo, for the charm. Mail, for where it happens.

What we believe

A few things we feel strongly about.

Words beat volume.

One email people wait for is worth more than ten they delete. We help you write fewer, better ones.

Psychology, not tricks.

Curiosity, trust, belonging, reciprocity. The same things that make people listen in real life. No fake urgency, no bait.

Your voice, not ours.

We study why great emails worked, then write something new that sounds like you. We never copy, and never hand your drafts to anyone else.

Honest by default.

In the product and on this page. If we don’t know something, we’ll tell you that too.

Your next email could be the one they wait for.
